In this interactive discussion, yogini Mary Burruss will explain how the sensory experience of eating affects our overall health. Mary will offer solutions for changing eating habits for the purpose of regaining physical health and connection to the human spirit. Included in this workshop is a brief meditation, a few simple, seated yoga moves, and a basic art project for participants to envision their ultimate dining experience.

Yoga leader and co-author of the soon to be published book, Food for Thought: The mechanics of eating for optimal health, Mary Burruss, has had a love affair with eating since her first trip to France as a summer exchange student. A devotee of Ayurveda, Mary has dedicated her professional life to helping people prevent, minimize the effects of and reverse lifestyle diseases through healthful daily routines.
She holds a BFA form Virginia Commonwealth University, M.Ed. from Virginia Tech and a yoga teaching certification from Guru Valma Brenton in Baja, Mexico. Her clients and students adore her lighthearted teaching style that often incorporates laughter as a medium for connection and opening the heart.
