Mindfulness, as defined by Jon Kabat-Zinn, is

"the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment."

Discover and encourage the profound impact that mindfulness can have on your child. Children grades K-5 are invited to participate in this children's mindfulness workshop.

Mindfulness has been proven to help children with:

  • Regulating their emotions
  • Dealing with difficult situations
  • Improving social and emotional skills

Facilitated by Elise Kindya, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and children's mindset coach, this workshop will help your child (and you if you choose to participate) utilize mindfulness quickly and in fun ways.

Admission is $10 per child -- parent participation is welcome but not necessary!

About the Presenter

Elise Kindya, MSW, LCSW

Mindset Coach for Children & Adults

Elise Kindya has been working with children in some capacity for most of her life. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and focused on trauma-informed care and resiliency while in graduate school, as well as in all of her professional roles. She grew up at the Jersey Shore, went to Hunter College in New York City and came to Richmond, VA for graduate school at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work. After that, she was a school counselor for over 4 years, along with many other professional roles at mental health, adoption and advocacy agencies.

Elise is an intuitive mindset coach and is passionate about helping children and families (and all people!) master their mindset using mindfulness. She believes that all people have the capacity to practice mindfulness everyday, while they are completing everyday tasks, and that this practice is what brings us into connection with each other and ourselves. When done consistently and with intention, she thinks that this practice can change the world. Her guiding principles are empowerment, alignment and connection.
