Not all local honey is sourced locally.

We love real local honey here at Ellwood's.

Through research, we have found out that all local honey is not created equally.

"Local honey" may be bottled locally and even contain some honey from local bees. What we discovered is that some "local honey" may contain about 10% honey from local bees and 90% from bees around the country and still call it "local".

The idea behind honey supporting allergies is similar to that of a person getting allergy shots. When a person eats 100% local honey, they are thought to be ingesting local pollen. Over time, a person may become less sensitive to this pollen. As a result, they may experience fewer seasonal allergies.

We have identified truly local honey that is 100% sourced from local bees.

Truly local honey sourced from local bees:

  • Bubba's Honey (for Ellwood's only)
  • Buzzing Bee Honey
  • East Coast Honey
  • Hungry Hill Honey
