Heather McLees-Frazier | The Healthy Birth
toLabor trained professional birth doula & Lamaze trained childbirth educator
Heather McLees-Frazier lives with her husband and three children in Carytown. She has worked in the field of childbirth for two years and has degrees in physical anthropology as well as Renaissance women’s history. Having three radically different birth experiences got her interested in the issues surrounding American maternity care. She trained as a doula with toLabor in 2012, and as a childbirth educator with Lamaze International in 2013. Her educational background as well as her personal and professional experience with birth give Heather a broad understanding of the societal ramifications of our maternity care choices and the practical applications of what helps women have safe and rewarding experiences in birth.
These classes are designed to give you and your partner information about what helps the most in labor and birth, all in a 3-week course. These classes incorporate Lamaze’s 6 Healthy Birth Practices, the physical and emotional signposts of labor and how to cope with them, support strategies for medicated and unmedicated labor, labor variations and non-medical techniques for addressing them, and your wishes and options for achieving the birth you want as well as for post-partum.
