Dr. Ron Herrsche
Dr. Herrsche graduated from Rutgers University with a Zoology degree in 1971, and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1976. Practicing at Integral Health Services in 1976 to 1980, he worked side-by-side with medical doctors, psychotherapists, homeopaths and nutritionists, which exposed Dr Herrsche early in his career to a wide array of healing modalities – alternative and traditional. He received his Virginia chiropractic license from the Virginia Board of Medicine in 1981 and has been practicing in Virginia for the past 33 years.
Dr Herrsche has a strong post-graduate background in therapeutic nutrition, specializing in natural female hormone balancing, adrenal fatigue, repairing intestinal permeability and safe detoxification protocols. Other areas of expertise are natural thyroid support and health issues related to gluten and the role it can play in autoimmunity disorders of the entire body.
The “Gluten Series” consists of three, one hour classes, which will provide you with the latest information on the surprisingly complex and hot-button subject of gluten and how it plays a role in health and disease, particularly in anemia, the immune system, the digestive system (leaky gut), the thyroid and the brain. Your experience will be more complete if you can attend all three, but its not required that you sign up for the series as a whole.
This is part three of a three part series on gluten. In this final class, “The Thyroid Connection – Hashimoto’s Disease”, Dr. Herrsche will show why you may still have thyroid symptoms, even when your thyroid lab tests come back normal. You’ll learn the importance of having a healthy gut and liver for thyroid hormone utilization and that the autoimmune disorder, Hashimoto’s Disease, is a common cause of low thyroid function and is many times accompanied by Celiac Disease.
