Description

In honor of National Black History Month, join Gwendolyn Nixon to participate in the 25th Annual African American Read-In. This event is one of many taking place during the month of February all over the nation as a way to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. All are welcome to join in by bringing a poem, excerpts from essays, stories, and plays by African American writers to share with the group. There will be 30 minutes to share what has been brought, followed by a 30 minute talk-back. After the reading and responses, participants are invited to continue their sharing and community-building in Ellwood’s Café.
