Emily Ellingsworth & The Visual Art Center

Emily Ellingsworth earned her BA in Fine Arts with minors in Creative Writing and Stained Glass at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and her MFA in Painting and Drawing at Academy of Art University. She has taken and taught classes in many continuing ed environments including the John C. Campbell Folk School.

Emily now lives in Richmond, VA In addition to teaching classes at the Visual Arts Center and organizing meet-ups for RVA Drink ‘n’ Draw, she participates monthly in Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School and tries to keep a sketchbook with her at all times

Come join us for recycled wrapping paper making. Bring your used paper shopping bags to reduce clutter before the holidays! Deconstruct bags and decorate them with various media to create charming handmade prints and patterns. Paint, draw, and stamp unique gift wrap, paper ribbons, tags, and greeting cards. Wrap the gifts you made at the Visual Art Center or purchased at Ellwood’s, or drop off the kids to decorate while you grab dinner.
