We always get the question from our customers, “Do you have any good turkey recipes that I could use?” The answer is, usually yes and no. We have a few delicious turkey recipes but we never really posted them or made them available to the public. That is, until now. For this holiday season, we’re taking a few of our favorite holiday turkey recipes and sharing them with you. Whether you want a traditionally prepared turkey or something out of left field, we’ve got the steps for you.
THE PERFECT ROASTED TURKEY
- 1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted organic butter
- 1 organic lemon, zested and juiced
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 fresh all natural or organic turkey (10 to 12 pounds)
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1 large bunch fresh organic thyme
- 1 whole organic lemon, halved
- 1 organic Spanish onion (preferred) , quartered.
- 1 head organic garlic, halved crosswise
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Add the zest and juice of the lemon and 1 teaspoon of thyme leaves to the butter mixture. Set aside.
Take the giblets out of the turkey and wash the turkey inside and out. Remove any excess fat and leftover pinfeathers and pat the outside dry. Place the turkey in a large roasting pan. Liberally salt and pepper the inside of the turkey cavity. Stuff the cavity with the bunch of thyme, halved lemon, quartered onion, and the garlic. Brush the outside of the turkey with the butter mixture and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Tie the legs together with string and tuck the wing tips under the body of the turkey.
Roast the turkey about 2 1/2 hours, or until the juices run clear when you cut between the leg and the thigh. Remove the turkey to a cutting board and cover with aluminum foil; let rest for 20 minutes.

Light & Easy Turkey Tenderloin
|1/2 Cup organic carrots, julienne sliced (1/4-inch)|
|1/2 Pound Organic or Local Turkey Tenderloin|
|2 green organic or local onions, sliced|
|2 Slices sweet red pepper|
|1/8 Teaspoon organic garlic powder|
|1/8 Teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed|
|1/8 Teaspoon salt|
|Dash black pepper|
|1 Tablespoon dry white wine
- On a 12X16-inch foil rectangle, place carrots in center of foil. Top with turkey tenderloin. Arrange onions and pepper slices over tenderloin. Sprinkle with garlic powder, crushed rosemary, salt and pepper.
- Fold edges of foil up to form a bowl shape. Pour wine over ingredients. Bring two opposite foil sides together above food; fold edges over and down to lock fold. Fold short ends up and over.
- On a cookie sheet, place foil bundle and bake at 400 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes or until turkey reaches 165 degrees F. Check for doneness by opening foil bundle carefully to insert meat thermometer in thickest part of tenderloin. Original recipe via.
Good Ol’ Smoked Turkey
- 1 (10 pound) whole organic or local turkey, neck and giblets removed
- 4 cloves organic garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
- 1/2 cup organic butter
- 2 (12 fluid ounce) cans cola-flavored carbonated beverage, we recommend Blue Sky Organic Cola
- 1 apple, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- Preheat smoker to 225 to 250 degrees F (110 to 120 degrees C).
- Rinse turkey under cold water, and pat dry. Rub the crushed garlic over the outside of the bird, and sprinkle with seasoned salt. Place in a disposable roasting pan. Fill turkey cavity with butter, cola, apple, onion, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Cover loosely with foil.
- Smoke at 225 to 250 degrees F (110 to 120 degrees C) for 10 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (80 degrees C) when measured in the thickest part of the thigh. Baste the bird every 1 to 2 hours with the juices from the bottom of the roasting pan. Original recipe via
