Local Persimmons Are In!

This is a true signal that fall is really here! We’ve been lucky enough to just get a few boxes of local persimmons in from Dave & Dee in Sedley, Virginia. These babies are native to Virginia and there’s a good chance you won’t find them at any other grocer in the area. They’re also hard to come by because deer and foxes typically eat them up before anyone is lucky enough to harvest them. The entire fruit, with the exception of the stem is edible. The taste – similar to the flavor and sweetness of a fig. The texture – kind of like an apple and a fig combined, so delicious! Come get them before they’re gone!
