This year’s Harvest Festival at the Monticello was an educational experience. Located at the historic and beautiful Jeffersonian homestead, festival goers enjoyed everything from fermentation workshops to medicinal plant walks. Naturalists lectured on the local floral. Seed savers answered growers questions. Beekeepers displayed their queens. Ira Wallace, force of nature that she is, was a catalyst behind this year’s event. Thanks to her energy and all the hard workers at Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, and all the vendors and educators that made it possible, the Festival was a Harvest Celebration to make Virginia proud.
Live music was wonderful and kept the kids entertained all day.
An amazing display of Virginia crafts and leather goods.
Megan with Andy from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, they great guy who built our seed racks!
