Paraben Free
Everyone is welcome at Ellwood Thompson’s, except for the paraben “sisters” — Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl Paraben; they’re a toxic clique. Used as inhibitors of microbial growth and to extend the shelf life of products, parabens cause many allergic reactions and skin rashes. Studies have shown that they are weakly estrogenic and are linked to the formation of some cancers.
Even though they are known to be harmful, parabens are still widely used throughout the conventional skincare, hair care and cosmetic industries, mainly as preservatives. So, you’ll be happy to know that Ellwood’s entire Health and Beauty department is free of parabens. You won’t find any of the ugly paraben sisters on our shelves.
