No High Fructose Corn Syrup

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a sweeter form of corn syrup. It is a refined sugar and is produced by processing corn starch to yield glucose, and then processing the glucose to produce syrup with a higher percentage of fructose. Media reports and research papers have pointed to HFCS as a link to the growing rate of obesity in the United States. While a direct link has not been proven, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. Why take the chance when there are so many other options that are delicious and are not linked to the obesity epidemic? Ellwood’s doesn’t take that chance so you don’t have to either.
