Ellwood Thompson’s maintains a close relationship with local and regional farmers to provide the best tasting, freshest produce possible.

During the harvest season, our primary goal is to source premium quality local organic produce.  When local organic varieties are not available or out of season, high quality organic and sometimes conventional produce is sourced from other areas, particularly Florida, California and South America. To the extent feasible, we do try to always show preference to local growers while we maintain excellence in the qualities of taste, freshness, fair size/ portion of product and price.

  • We provide better growing practice incentives with our Local Vendor Buy In Tier System
  • We offer USDA Organic Certification and Natural Growers Pledge referrals to help cultivate competitive produce growers.
  • We offer information, guidance and resources to local growers to build knowledge base in bridging the gap between product production and marketplace demands and standards
