Want to know what makes Ellwood’s local produce good? Then you’re sure to want to know what makes our local selection better and best, too!
In an effort to help you make the most informed local produce selections, Ellwoods introduces Good, Better and Best. With this simple rating system you can, at a glance, know how your local food is grown.
Cyndi Watkins, Ellwood’s local product forager, is in charge of keeping it local at Ellwoods. She is working with Jason, Ellwood’s garden (aka produce) manager and all of our local farmers to create “Truth in Growing” statements. With this information, Jason and his team will make sure all produce provided by local farms is tagged with the appropriate Good, Better, Best designation.
Ellwoods also offers incentives for the farms that fall within the Better and Best categories so that our customers will have access to fresh, delicious local goods grown with the best organic practices.
