Our Local Food System
Our local food system is one of the most important things to our business besides our customers. Being able to shake the hands that feed us means security and trust in product that we can pass along to you.
The USDA defines local as anything within 400 miles, to us, that sounds more like a weekend getaway. Our definition of local starts with a strict 100-mile radius from our front door. We also have two definitions of local, which you’ll see below. Items that we list as “local” are grown, harvested, or raised within 100-miles of our store. A good example of this would be locally-grown lettuce or locally-made cheese from local milk. When you see the term “locally-made” it is referring to a local business or artisan that crafts their product locally , not always using local ingredients.
So take a second to meet the farmers and producers that we so gladly call our friends. Click their name below to get to know them better.
