Isle of Mull Cheddar

It’s been a couple of years since I tasted this lovely cheddar. I first fell in love with it when I was living and working in San Francisco. In fact I was able to meet the cheesemaker one year during a visit of English Cheesemakers touring the city. It is just as wonderful as I remember it. Sharp and grassy. Tasting all the wonderful flavors of coastal grasses and strawlike hay that the cows are eating. A farmstead, raw milk cheese produced by Sgriob-ruadh farm, located near the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. The cheeses are made year round with subtle taste differences occuring throughout the year, based on whether the cows are in the field with the wild grass or being fed hay in winter months.
At 12.99 lb, this Scottish Cheddar is a real treat, come on by and ask for some.
