Cheese from Maryland

I work with such fabulous cheese, that it takes something very special to knock me off my feet. Yesterday, I tasted such a cheese. Cherry Glen is located in Boyds, Maryland and they are producing wonderful goat cheeses. The two we have in stock are Monocacy Gold, which for all you french cheese fans tasted to me like Lingot du Quercy, all silky and smooth… but the real wow came when I put the Monocacy Ash in my mouth. Awww man, my friends out at Cypress Grove might have some competition here.. it has a delicate layer of ash, all around the outside as well as through the center and is the size of two crottins stacked up together. I’m in love. Aged perfectly, packaged beautifully, farmstead and vegetable rennet.
Yum Yum Yum.. worth the price, come on by and ask for a try.
