Richmond, VA - Known as the home of Ellwood Thompson’s?

That’s way better than being known has the home of the confederacy - it’s the old capitol of the confed - which is a legacy most Richmonders want to forget and move beyond. So here’s to the dude who mentions both in his blog - out with the old, in with the new-ish (ET is almost 20), and you gotta love the pic. http://jonclancy.wordpress.com/2008/04/03/ellwood-thompsons-richmond-va/

Last Thanksgiving we purchased a fresh organic turkey from you. Thanksgiving morning when we unwrapped it we were surprised and shocked to find it full of feathers and pinfeathers. It took my husband 1.5 hours to defeather the turkey before we could begin to cook it. That delay threw off our Thanksgiving dinner and our guests by that amount of time. Several months later when I remembered to mention it at the store, I was told to send an email to the meat department which I did. I never received a reply. Remembering to say something again recently, I was told by customer service it was too late and that the prior meat department manager had been fired. I’m still baffled why that was supposed to make me feel better about the $75 I spent on my family’s Thanksgiving turkey. The whole experience has been less than satisfactory and continues to grate. As a long time customer of Ellwood Thompson, I certainly don’t feel loyalty cut two ways, and I do feel the store’s bottom line trumped any attempt at fairness.
