We follow store manager & beer conisiuer, Todd Taylor, once again. This weeks mission = Ellwood Thompson’s Fresh Farmhouse Ale. Check out his notes on the beer below…
Features a nice orange/golden color with a thin white head. Head fades quickly. Beautiful citrus aroma with a faint scent of Belgian yeast, somewhat peppery. First tastes are pepper and cloves. Nice crispness. Very nice paired with a local ET baguette and some local Meadow Creek Grayson cheese. Cheers!
Even though here in Virginia we’ve been teased with exceptionally warm weather for the month of February, the cold is still dwindling around. Hearty foods not only are fun to make but satisfying to eat. The warmth and fulfillment of of seasoned black rice blended with the meatiness of mushroom hash makes this vegetarian comfort dish the perfect meal before spring comes around.
